Running Around Madness

I feel like a mouse in a hamster wheel. Not a hamster, but a mouse. The mouse gets his tail stuck in those little wire steps and flops and flaps and gets beat up hanging upside down by his tail flailing. Not only am I running in one place like a mad woman, getting no where, I'm getting beat up in the process. I'm trying to work from home, be very frugal, and raise my kiddos but this is hard...no one said it would be easy but gee. I was running around tonight trying to get the kids in bed and hit my mouth with the cabinet door real hard. I've got a big ol' bump on my lip. I mean I just slammed myself real hard with the cabinet door. Not only am I metaphorically beating myself up, I literally am!

Uh-Oh

Hannah's has expanded her vocab! "Uh-Oh!" is the phrase of the week apparently. It's a nice break from the constant "bye-bye" that she says over and over and over again. Along the uh-oh lines, Hannah is 9 months old...she is terrified of the vacuum. I don't even have to turn it on, if she catches a glimpse of it she starts puckering.

She is screaming raging mad scared over the little sucker. I was getting something out of the closet where we keep the vacuum and didn't hear her behind me. Never thought she would follow me to the dreaded vacuum closet. I knocked the sucker (pun intended) over and it feel on the baby. It's bad enough to be terrified of the vacuum, but to be attacked and hit on the head with it, what a bad mommy!!!! This vacuum stage may never be over now. Poor kid.

New fence in back yard

Well my husband finally completed our privacy fence. We had one already when we moved here, but he had this great idea of making it better, newer, fancier. He was supposed to complete it in one day, on Labor Day weekend. We had to visit him out back the entire weekend...the project that he said would take half a day took about a week. I am proud that he has completed it now (mostly anyway). He put a new hook on the back gate and Hannah and I, and the crazy wiener dog went out back to play. Well, the hook on the gate is only on one side of the gate....don't ask me why.... I got locked in the back yard, not once, not twice, but three times. (Apparently, I'm not a fast learner). I ended up having to scale the fence each time to reach the latch on the other side of the fence. Neighbors were out and probably enjoyed the show.

Do Ebay - Instead of Having a Garage Yard Sale

I sound like a hopeless endorser for Ebay, but here's the story. I had a garage sale, lots of work, sweat and tears. I placed an ad in the paper and created lots of large bright signs, lots of advertisement...great weather....I only turned a $60 profit. I sent most of the stuff to the local thrift shop. I hung up all the clothes and made sure they were accessible and neat and clean. Lots of nice little girl clothing, and baby clothes (which I also advertised for) I kept some of the clothing that didn't sell to see if I could dabble on ebay and see what I could do with it. I ended up making $244 on ebay just from clothing that was left over at my garage sale. Right now I only ship to the US too. I plan on doing international soon. The whole world is out there people. Ones who are searching and dying to buy your unwanted goods. Kudos to the old adage...one man's trash is another man's treasure.

Another ebay auction completed.

I have 15 minutes until I need to wake my oldest for school. My 9 month old decided she didn't want to sleep last night and that combined with staying up late with my ebay business has left me in an "out of body" state of mind.

I just completed another auction on ebay and it went rather well. I sell mostly children's clothes and clothes my husband and I are finished with. It suprised me to see when I first started out just how much stuff I had just laying around the house to sell on ebay to earn some extra income. It has become a full blown addiction now. Having a baby in the house helps, as she is constantly growing and all her gently used clothing gets sent to ebay.

Thrift shops, such as Goodwill, etc...they have become my best friend. I can turn about a 400% profit from a great find at a thrift shop or gargage sale. I have found that I do better (most of the time) at thrift shops instead of garage sales. Neighborhood sales are better, especially with two little ones in tow. Prices at garage sales aren't wonderful anymore it seems. They seem to require you haggle or talk down the prices, which I am not good at doing but plan on implementing at my next neighborhood sale.
